MEET OUR TEAM

Phil Wintch, LCSW

Oh hey y'a'll.  I don't really know why I said that because I'm not from the South, but I am from Utah's Dixie and I love it here.  I know this seams unprofessional to start this way, but if you want professional check out my Psychology today profile...not this. Here I'm just gonna be me. So, more on that subject. I'm a Lord of the Rings nerd, and find it significantly more engaging than Star Wars, although Star Wars does have legitimate merit.  I could eat food all day, but the food I love best is authentic Mexican burrito's with a splash of lime...nay, a wave of lime. My favorite things to do are wrestle with my sons, and talk about the latest elementary school drama with my daughter. My wife is my best friend and dear companion and she totally takes the cake! The end.

Angela Shields, AMFT & CTRS

Hi, I’m Angela and I love being a therapist. I love working with people who are ready to make changes for the better. I consider it a privilege to bear witness and be a part of that process. I enjoy creating a team with my clients where we work together to accomplish whatever hopes and goals are before them. I’m an avid outdoors person and enjoy implementing my experience in rock climbing and hiking into my therapeutic process. I have my bachelor’s degree in Recreation Therapy and my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy. I love working with couples, families, and individuals to help improve communication and overall relationship satisfaction. I also enjoy trauma work and am trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy, a trauma treatment that uses eye movements to help process out stuck emotional trauma responses. I love life and all the ups and downs it offers. I can’t wait to meet you!

Maggie Garner, CSW

I have enjoyed meeting with all of my clients, and am happy to take clients depending on space availability. I connect especially well with women of all ages, teens and young adults, and especially enjoy helping people trying to navigate major life changes or challenges.

The first thing I want you to know, is that I am client centered. Successful therapy will involve you reaching your personal goals and being true to you. My roots are in cognitive therapy, and I believe strongly in the power that our thoughts have over our emotions. I am naturally positive and connect with a solution focused and growth centered mindset.

Are you looking for more hope, healing, and positive change? Let me help you find the tools to face uncertainty, pain, and life’s ups and downs. I find joy in connecting with others and want to be here for you and cheer you on as we discover how to navigate challenges.

Sara Swan, CSW

Hello! I'm Sara. I believe that everyone is capable of making positive changes in their life. Sometimes it can feel overwhelming, but the fact that you are here means you're already taking a first step. That is amazing! I view therapy as a collaboration where we will navigate your needs, build personal understanding, and work on solutions together. I want to walk this path of change and personal growth with you.

I studied psychology at Brigham Young University and received a Masters of Social Work from Youngstown State University in Ohio. I minored in art and enjoy incorporating creative arts in therapy. I am also trained in EMDR.

I love cats, history, traveling, and spending time with family. I always seem have a few different creative projects going on which helps keep life interesting.

Amy Brotherson, LCSW

My passion is bringing hope and healing to individuals who have experienced a traumatic or stressful event or situation. When severe stress or trauma is experienced, it is not unusual to feel unraveled or emotionally uprooted. I help my clients, who include children, adults, couples, and families, find hope and gain healthy perceptions of themselves. I enable clients to strengthen their relationships, so they can recognize themselves as the safe confident and complete individuals they are.

There is not a single therapeutic approach that is perfect for everyone. I have been trained in multiple modalities such as CBT, DBT, Theraplay, TF-CBT and Mindfulness to address the many symptoms that stem these difficult situations. And to create a treatment plan to meet individual needs. I have sought to gain knowledge about the many dynamics of life experiences and have worked in a variety of settings to obtain that knowledge, to create a safe environment and to effectively help individual feel impowered.

Joyce Clements CSW

I have a master’s degree in social work. I enjoy working with many populations of people that are struggling with mental health. Some of my therapeutic focuses have been in trauma treatment, anxiety, depression, and addiction recovery. As a social worker I am dedicated to protecting vulnerable people and advocating for changes within communities that will promote social equality. I grew up in Eastern Idaho where the weather is much windier and snowier. I am married and she has 3 children. I am a musician and avid snowboarder.

Marlene Fahnestock

When people come into therapy for the first time they are often struggling with fallout from unconscious forces. Clients describe sudden anxieties, sadness, blockages or are unable to do the things which they know will be good for them. Many feel bound because they are driven by unconscious patterns. Others just need some help with coping, changing bad habits or making a tough decision.
My unique therapeutic approach is a multi-focused spectrum of analysis including CBT, DBT, Existential, and Mindfulness.
Often people have difficulty adequately working through problems themselves or with the help of friends and family. The problems build up, solutions seem unobtainable and things that used to help aren't cutting it anymore. My professional focus is on helping people to make meaningful changes in their lives by working through these obstructions.
